A Preschooler's Unique Musical Advantage

Preschool children have a unique advantage as learners of music because their brains are in a critical development period for auditory processing. During this time period, the brain absorbs and stores basic language processing skills into deep memory.

Music, like language, is a set of sounds with rules and regularities, which makes children the ideal candidates for musical training. During this crtical development period, children have the ability to learn perfect pitch (or memorized pitch), which grants them an amazing degree of musical understanding and expression.

Preschool Prodigies and the Young Musician brings you easy to use resources to best take advantage of your child's unique musical ability.

Music Lessons for the Young Musician

Preschool Prodigies aims to provide young children easy to follow and at-home music lessons. By using the already popular Chromanotes (TM) system for reading music, children are able to read and play music on a variety of early instruments. Reading a traditional staff is too difficult for most 3-7 year olds, but colored notes and fun-to-follow video instruction make playing your favorite songs easy. Reading music, even color coded music, builds sequencing and patterning skills while playing an instrument builds fine and gross motor rhythm and coordination.

Most importantly, playing simple and recognizable melodies will give children meaningful exposure to individual notes which is the key to developing perfect pitch at an early age.
